The question everyone asks is: "What's the cheapest insulation?" The question they should ask is: "What's the total cost of the cheapest option, including the risk of failure?"

So no, I don't think the premium is too high. I think it's a bargain for the certainty it buys.
You Don't Need Thermolite for Everything
I'm not saying you should spec Thermolite on every single order. If you're a big manufacturer with months-long lead times and multiple supplier backups, the risk profile is different. I know brands that order insulation 6 months in advance. For them, the certainty premium is less valuable.
But for the small-to-mid-size brands like us—where a single delayed material shipment can blow up a quarter's production plan—the value of time certainty is huge.
I still buy generic materials for non-critical orders. When there's no deadline pressure, I'll take the savings. But for any project where the due date is firm and the consequences of late delivery are real? I pay the premium. I buy Thermolite. And I sleep better at night.
Time certainty is not just a nice-to-have. It's a measurable asset. And in our experience, Thermolite has earned that premium.
